Small Wedding in Minneapolis

Heather and Nate originally reached out to me to discuss having their wedding at the Minneapolis Courthouse. When I started to talk to them about what they were looking for in their day, we thought there might be some other options to suit their needs while granting them the elegance and intimacy they were looking for.

So we started searching and planning! Heather was able to find and book an amazing Airbnb in Minneapolis in Uptown. I helped them find photo locations, a hair and makeup artist, and flowers for their day as well.

When the day finally arrived, they and their 10 guests stayed there the night before, playing games together and doing some last-minute wedding prep. When I arrived on Monday afternoon (that’s right, Monday!), the ladies were just finishing getting their hair and makeup done. Elizabeth is one of the most talented hair and makeup artists I have gotten the chance to work with!

Heather and Nate each already have kids, and Heather was excited to celebrate with her daughter and her two “bonus” daughters, who made up their wedding party. We got some cute shots of the girls in their jammies and helping each other get into their dresses. This house had such a perfect getting ready space!

Nate’s friend, Aaron, helped him get ready, and also officiated the wedding. I loved hearing the story of how Heather and Nate had some of their first dates at an arcade with friends. They are both goofy, full of laughs, and just overall fun people.

After the ceremony in the backyard, Heather, Nate and I headed to the Lyndale Peace and Rose Gardens for their couples and individual portraits. After about half an hour, their friends and family joined us for some group pics!

To cap off their wedding day celebration, Heather and Nate booked a private dining room at Spoon and Stable, with a custom menu from their superb chef!

It was a perfect, low-key but elegant day, celebrating Heather, Nate, and their new combined family.
