Looking for the perfect garden setting in the Minneapolis area to hold your engagement photography session? Let me introduce the Millennium Gardens in Plymouth, Minnesota!
Here is everything you need to know about the space, reserving your photo time, how to prepare for your session there, and photos of the gardens!
What You Need to Know About Millennium Garden
Millennium Garden is located off Highway 55 and I-494, so it’s easily accessible from anywhere in the Twin Cities area. There is ample parking, and if you arrive when the Community Center is open too, there are bathrooms available inside.
The gardens themselves hold a number of features to add variety to your photos like a pergola, archways, a pond and water spout, as well as a labyrinth benches, stairs and walking paths!
While CeCe and Nick’s session, featured below, was in the summer, these gardens are lovely all year round.
One thing to note is that a permit is required to have your photo session at Millennium Garden, which can either be held by your photographer or by you. They cost $75, and the Community Center must be notified of your preferred session date. Keep in mind that there are limited weekend dates available as the Gardens can also be reserved for private events, like weddings. Apply for your permit and get more info here!
As you’re preparing for your session at the Millennium Gardens, consider that some of the pathways are gravel, so wearing shoes that you’re comfortable in is a must. While a permit is required to photograph there, that permit does not give you and your photographer exclusive access to the space. It will still be open for other photographers (with permits) to use and also be open to the public.
