The space at Creekside Farm Weddings and Events is perfect for those who wish to have a wedding surrounded by diverse nature within driving distance to the Twin Cities! You’ll have 50 acres all to yourselves, the option for 9 different ceremony spot options, beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for you and your guests to enjoy, and endless spots to take amazing wedding photos!
Haley and Jake tied the knot at Creekside in late June 2023 — let’s check out their day to give you an idea of what you can expect from this beautiful wedding venue! Stick around til the end to see their photos from their Minnesota barn wedding!
Before Guests Arrive at Creekside
Haley and Jake chose to get ready separately and greet each other with a first look! I am forever a fan of the first look because you, the couple, get to share an intimate moment greeting each other for the first time on your wedding day rather than having everyone staring at you.
Beyond the emotional reasons, there are logistical reasons to have a first look as well! We were able to adventure around for their couple’s photos for a bit, exploring everything Creekside had to offer (just kidding…Creekside Farms is HUGE). Then we had a relaxed time with their wedding party and family photos, ensuring that everyone had time to take water breaks because it was getting steamy out!
OH! And let’s not forget that Peach and Lemon, the golden retrievers extraordinaire came to visit too! More and more couples are including their dogs in their weddings, and I just love that! Here are some tips to make it successful:
- First and foremost, ensure that your venue allows pets on site, and that your pups will handle being around your guests well. If they are homebody dogs, the day may just be too much for them, and we don’t want that!
- Have a designated caretaker for the pups. This can be a friend or coworker, but I would not recommend choosing someone you truly want to enjoy your day, as they will be busy when they’re around and likely leave early to bring the pups home for the night. There are also great care services like All Companion Pet Care and Becca’s MN Pet Care that can help you out as well!
- Be mindful of the temperature. Having spaces with air conditioning (especially in the summer) so your pups can stay cool in the heat. In the winter, the same goes for ensuring your venue has heated spaces for your dogs.
Ok, back to Haley & Jakes’ day at Creekside Farms wedding venue!
Guests Arrive to Creekside, and We Celebrate!
As guests began to arrive, they were led to the Woodland Ceremony site. (This was a bit of a hike, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you have a lot of guests who would have trouble walking about a quarter mile in the grass.) Guests were shaded well on this warm, sunny day in Minnesota, which is fairly unique for an outdoor ceremony spot!
After we got Haley and Jake married (woo!!), they popped to the side for some extended family photos and then joined their guests back at the barn for cocktail hour, featuring Peach Lemonade honoring Peach and Lemon!
Dinner was served as Northerly’s Photo Booth began to set up outside — highly recommend this one! We heard some moving and heartfelt toasts, cut the cake (peep the lil pups on the cake), and witnessed first and parent dances with the barn door open! As the party got started, Haley, Jake, and I were whisked away to the other side of the property where we basked in the gorgeous sunset for some intimate photos. Cue open fields with lush, mature trees for a truly tranquil scene for photos.
Upon returning, DJ Mad Love kept the celebration cranked as guests danced inside and outside. One more highly unique feature of Creekside’s setup! Often, guests have to decide if they will stay on the sweaty dance floor or take a break outside. Not here! Just take a few steps to the patio and you can keep dancing in the fresh air!
We wrapped up the night with some additional guest shots the couple wanted, and I left feeling fulfilled and so happy to have been a small part of this special day at Creekside Farm Wedding & Events!
